San Diego Communities
San Diego city is the second largest city in California and the eighth largest in the United States, it has more than 100 neighborhoods which are divided into 52 individual Community Planning Areas. The people of the city are extremely friendly and have a relaxed lifestyle that is not seen in many metropolitan cities.
Downtown San Diego on the San Diego bay, Balboa Park with many mesas and canyons in the northeast, the dense and old urban communities of Hill crest and North Park, City Heights, Southeast San Diego, College area are some of the popular neighborhoods in the San Diego City. The boundaries of the neighborhoods are clearly understood by the residents of the city by depending upon the geographical boundaries. The city has a strong presence of military personnel, which makes the local public well behaved and a delight to be among.
San Diego has many skyscrapers, the first among them over 300 feet tall was the El Cortez apartment Hotel constructed in 1927 and then gradually many new ones came up including the Union Bank of California Building, Symphony Towers, One America Plaza and others. There are no high rises above 500 feet in Downtown San Diego as per the FAA regulations set in 1970s due to the proximity of San Diego International Airport. The beautiful neighborhoods and communities makes living in San Diego City a pleasure.
