San Francisco Schools
There are many Public, Private and Chartered Schools in San Francisco offering quality education. The public schools in the San Francisco region fall under the purview of San Francisco Unified School District and few of the chartered schools are run by the State Board of Education.
Some of the oldest public schools in the region include Lowell High School and School of the Arts high School. There are around 100 private schools in the San Francisco region out of which 40 are Catholic schools managed by the Archdiocese of San Francisco.
The University of California, San Francisco is one of the renowned universities responsible for providing quality higher education in the region along with San Francisco State University which happens to be a part of California State University. The University of California, San Francisco is the only campus of the University of California system which is completely dedicated only for graduate courses in health sciences and biomedicine. Golden Gate University, Academy of Art University and San Francisco art institute are some of the other institutes imparting education in the fields of Arts and Sciences in San Francisco region.
