San Jose Communities
The city of San Jose has various communities that have been created based on geographical regions. While some of these were unincorporated communities to start with, they were later included in the city neighborhoods list when the areas were annexed to the city. The specific geographical areas that the city has include Downtown San Jose, Central, West San Jose, North San Jose, East San Jose and South San Jose.
There are also sub communities that have been created like Japantown, Sunol-Midtown, Rose Garden, Naglee Park, Willow Glen, Burbank, West San Jose, Winchester, Alviso, East Foothills, Cambrian, Alum Rock, Little Portugal, Blossom Valley, Silver Creek Valley, Almaden Valley, Evergreen Valley, Edenvale, Santa Teresa, Seven Trees and Coyote Valley.
There are also various groups of people that are active in the city. The gay community, the children teacher's community, the ethnic Asian community and the elderly care community are some of the most active in the city. Sports and performing art communities are also active in this large city and there are generally facilities available for each within a short distance.
