Jacksonville Communities
Jacksonville is one of the most magnificent cities in the Southeastern United States with fascinating neighborhoods and efficient city planning. Residents of the city's certain neighborhoods develop patriotism towards their neighborhood because of the facilities and amenities that it offers. Jacksonville with more than 500 neighborhoods is divided into six planning districts distributing a number of neighborhoods to the Urban Core, Greater Arlington, Southeast Jacksonville, Southwest Jacksonville, Northwest Jacksonville and North Jacksonville planning districts. The southwest and the Northwest district areas are well known as the Westside consisting of the neighborhoods west of downtown and the river along with rural land. Some of the most important neighborhoods in Jacksonville are LaVilla, Deerwood, Mandarin, Arlington and other neighborhoods like Avondale, Ortega, Springfield and Riverside which are U.S historic districts in National Register of Historic Places.
Jacksonville also has many parks in every neighborhood and the city is known to operate the largest urban park system in the United States. One can find many historic buildings in and around the city. Hemming Plaza is the first and oldest park in Jacksonville. There are also various old and new theaters in the Jacksonville area along with few of the well-known shopping centers and nightspots in every neighborhood.
